
Planned renovations to the main artery of the Oakland museums are currently under exploration, with a focus on enhancing openness and mobility to support a more welcoming, community-centered gathering space.
Carnegie Museum of Art is considering opportunities to create a more generous space for welcome and ticketing, along with improvements to primary circulation areas. Conceptual designs may address lighting and sightlines, with the goal of increasing visibility through the building and into the Sculpture Court.
The museum is also exploring the potential to reimagine hospitality amenities as distinct spaces, separate from art areas; to highlight the many ways the museum connects people to art and one another.
