As one of the world’s foremost single artist museums, The Andy Warhol Museum is a crucial anchor of art and community to the North Shore. The Warhol houses a permanent collection of more than 10,000 works, hosts special contemporary artist exhibitions, engages LGBTQ+ youth and youth of color through nationally recognized, state-of-the-art initiatives, and operates the first workforce development program housed in an American art museum.
Our vision: Building on the initial momentum of The Pop District, we will engage our community through art, inspire local creatives, and assure Warhol’s legacy by growing endowment funds to elevate and sustain the museum.
Inspire Through Innovative Learning and Public Programs
For more than three decades, The Warhol has animated the museum’s mission through high-quality arts education and public programming. Campaign support will build on this foundation by further establishing the museum as a regional leader for youth programs, inclusive and adaptive art experiences, and school and community partnerships.
Engage and Activate Our Neighborhood Through Art
Our Pop District initiative expands The Warhol’s reach in the community outside the four walls of our museum, turning it “inside out.” The multi-faceted nature of this expansion will include the construction of The Factory: Creative Arts Center, as well as enriching our neighborhood through public art.
Endow and Sustain Warhol’s Legacy
We will grow endowment funds to preserve the integrity of our collection and secure The Warhol as a global and local arts destination. Investing in our exhibitions, curatorial program, archives, learning programs, and senior leadership roles will not only strengthen the museum’s long-term sustainability but enable us to attract and retain top-level talent, spur curatorial and programmatic innovation, and deepen partnerships with emerging and established artists as well as Pittsburgh’s diverse communities.
