Creating new visitor experiences
Carnegie Museums will bring an eclectic mix of new experiences as part of the ALL TOGETHER Campaign. Something for everyone, including two new early-learner spaces at Kamin Science Center and Carnegie Museum of Natural History; Science of Speed at the Science Center, featuring a multi-floor electric go-kart track; and the Museum of Natural History’s much-anticipated exploration of ancient Egypt.

Revitalizing our buildings, our grounds, and our neighborhoods
Renewed outdoor spaces at Carnegie Museum of Art in Oakland and at the Science Center on Pittsburgh’s North Shore will feature ADA improvements, outdoor visitor amenities, and space for members of our museum community to gather to enjoy public art, programming, and events. The Factory: Creative Arts Center will expand the footprint and the vision of The Warhol’s Pop District.

Preserving and expanding access to collections, archives
Carnegie Museum of Natural History will invest in space and storage renovations and a digital database for its 22 million specimens and objects that serve as a resource for researchers and scientists around the world. At The Warhol, campaign funds will support the museum’s archives of 500,000+ items, a resource for a world where the life and art of Andy Warhol is more popular than ever.

Growing education and science initiatives
Campaign support will help expand the impact and reach of Carnegie Museum of Art’s education programs and bolster workforce-development training for young people in The Warhol’s Pop District. At the Museum of Natural History, funding will secure its place as a leading scientific institution in the study of the ancient Earth, living biodiversity, and the relationship between nature and culture.

Support for changing exhibitions
The campaign will help support the museums’ goals of bringing diverse changing exhibitions to the region. At Carnegie Museum of Art, exhibition support includes funding for future iterations of the Carnegie International, the longest-running exhibition of international art in North America. At Carnegie Museum of Natural History, a new Rotating Exhibition Gallery will give visitors a chance to see more museum’s world-renowned collections.

Expanding access to our museums
The future of Carnegie Museums includes expanded programming that removes barriers to access and belonging. Today, our Community Access Membership program provides free membership for 20,000+ teens and greatly reduced memberships to local families. And each of our museums offer creative programming targeted to teens and seniors.
