Big Picture
Coming face-to-face with the past, forever frozen in time, is an experience unique to POMPEII: THE EXHBITION, on view at Carnegie Science Center through April 24. Pompeii’s sudden burial after the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius over 2,000 years ago protected it from vandalism, looting, and the destructive effects of weather. The result is a record of life, and death, at the height of the Roman Empire.
