As the region’s largest provider of informal STEM learning, the Daniel G. and Carole L. Kamin Science Center’s mission is to connect people and science, igniting curiosity that endures for a lifetime. Today, we educate, inspire, and entertain through modern facilities, exhibit galleries, and educational programming.
Our vision is to transform Kamin Science Center through innovative exhibition and program design that is culturally responsive and relevant; expanded capacity for authentic community engagement; investments in economic development and neighborhood connectivity; and strategic growth in mission-sustaining business lines.
Transform our Campus to Drive Community Revitalization and Mission-Sustaining Revenue
We will reshape our North Side neighborhood through riverfront and campus development, leading a public-private coalition that joins emerging industries and local partners. Our reimagined riverfront and USS Requin will anchor this transformation, attracting pedestrians, boaters, cyclists, and transit riders. Portions of our asphalt lots will become green spaces for respite, science inspiration, and renewable energy, positioning the museum as a model for urban sustainability.
Catalyze Museum Experiences
We will update our galleries with dynamic content that engages learners of all ages. This capital investment will launch new experiences including the new Sports360, a third-floor exhibition on careers in the trades, an iconic tech installation in the Peirce Atrium, and a cutting-edge racing experience unlike anything you’ve encountered in a museum.
Momentum Fund
The Science Center is known for pioneering education content, exhibits, and programs we deliver on-site and throughout the region. Through a Momentum Fund, we will invest in innovative ideas and approaches that keep us at the leading edge of museum-based education and visitor experiences.
